Zinnia Elegans

A great heat loving plant that is perfect for Melbourne gardens.

Pick zinnias when the stem is firm near the flower head. Wriggle the stem and if it has any bend just wait another day or so. This increases the vase life of the flowers.

Zinnias are prolific flowerers and are deemed a cut and come again plant. Harvesting flowers regularly sends a message to the plant to grow more flowers.

Zinnias come an a wide range of colours, sizes and shapes.

Vase life 7-10 days.

Some of my zinnia collections were started with seeds purchased from Floret Flower Farm as part of the one of limited release in Australia a few years ago. Seeds were collected from the plants and sown the following year.
